This is an opportunity to relax and retreat from the fast paced routine while learning how to wild camp safely and efficiently.

What Is Involved?
Over the years I have come to realise that people take in information much better when they feel happy and relaxed. My aim is to provide a wholesome learning experience throughout the journey of our Wild camping adventure.
Just like the Navigation sessions I offer, the Wild Camping course and retreat begins with access to online video tutorials. After completing the online course which will give you a solid foundation to begin your wild camping adventure with, we will meet and head out into the mountains to practice our new skills and reconnect with nature.
Stage 1 – Learn the Process
Once you have secured your place on the course I will send you a link to the online tutorials. The idea is to cover as much of the formal learning as possible via video. By doing this it will allow us to have a much more wholesome experience while out exploring and sleeping in the mountains.

- The Law and our rights regarding wild camping
- How to plan your wild camping adventure

- How to Pack for an expedition
- Where and how to pitch for the night
- Camp craft
- Packing down on a morning
- Leave no trace
Stage 2 – Put it into Practice
This is it! Our opportunity to put the theory and skills you learned into practice. We are heading out for 3 days and two nights. Within this time my aim is to support the you to become proficient with your routine and handling the equipment.
As you begin to relax into the experience you will notice that the routine we have created to keep ourselves warm, fed and safe is a small aspect of the journey. The real learning comes as we hike through nature together and spend time exposed to the elements. Falling asleep under the night sky and waking up to the sight of the mountains helps to turn the noise of our usual routine down, and opens our senses to the natural environment surrounding us.
As you leave the course on day 3 you will feel tired but reenergised. You will have learned how to remain safe out there in the mountains and have the confidence to head out when ever you need to retreat and reset your mind and body.
What Inspired this Course?
In my spare time I enjoy going for multi day walks and wild camping. During these hikes I have plenty of time to reflect and let go of past experiences or work through them to help me become a more rounded version of my self. I adopt a disciplined approach to camp craft, eating and drinking which brings a sense of well being, because submitting my self to a system which takes effort but results in warmth and comfort, even when out side in poor weather, brings a sense of pure achievement and survival. Journeying through the wilderness knowing this is everything for the next few days resets the mind and body. Sleeping out under the stars in your tent resets the body clock and puts you back in sync with nature.
