Summit and Beyond Guided Walks Lake District

Helvellyn Summit via Striding Edge

Experience the journey to the summit of Helvellyn via Striding edge with a fully qualified Mountain Leader. Pay what you feel the event is worth. This is event is run on donations only.

We will start in the valley at Patterdale near Ullswater and walk up on to striding edge. Striding edge feels quite exposed in places and requires some low level scrambling. We will work as a team to support each other over the steep ground to the summit of Helvellyn.

Once at the summit we will check in with each other and decide on our descent. If the group are happy with more scrambling we will make our way down Swirrel Edge but if we decide a less steep route would be better we will head down Dollywagon to Grisedale tarn.

My aim is to provide an opportunity to feel the energy of the mountains. I also want people to learn some of the skills needed to remain safe in the mountain environment.

The decision to offer these guided walks on a donation basis came because I would have been hiking these routes anyway. I feel it is more important for people to be out in nature than to make lots of money.

I do have other packages that I charge for and aim to get these fully booked. Nevertheless, if you want to learn some new skills and experience the mountains. Use the contact form below to book your place on this guided walk. Alternatively click here for our contact page
