About the ‘SF Mountain Challenge’

SF Boot Camp and Summit and Beyond are teaming up to provide a Mountain challenge like no other.

SF Boot Camp was set up to provide a health, fitness and well-being service for people living in Leeds and Bradford. Kingsley is the energy behind SF Boot Camp. He served 15 years in the Army and his motto is “lets get the job done”. Today, Kingsley brings his determination and passion for health, fitness and well-being to the people of Leeds and Bradford, but his ethos and the connection he creates between people travels nation wide.

SF Boot Camp

Kingsley from SF Boot Camp and Ben from Summit and Beyond served a stint in the Army together. They went their separate ways but both went on to create services which support people on their journey to health and well-being. Kingsley focused on the skills he learned as a PT and Ben focused on the skills he learned in navigation.

Now they are teaming up to test peoples Boot Camp fitness achievements in the mountains.

Beginners ‘SF Mountain Challenge’

If you are returning, or new to fitness training this challenge is for you.

This is a single day hike / low level scramble. We will start at Scales just off the A66 and contour West along the southern slopes of Belncathra. The first stage involves a couple of steep sections that will involve team work to negotiate, then levels out into a picturesque walk to the base of our scramble. This first section can be used as our warm up. Then we will turn north and straight up. This section starts with steep walking, the legs will burn and breathing deep is the focus. This steep walk eventually turns into a low level scramble high up on Halls Fell Ridge. When we reach Halls Fell we will work as one unit to support each other all the way to the summit of Belncathra. The descent is a steady walk and we pass Scales Tarn a beautiful lake high up on Belncathra. This is always a good time to stop and be present before we head back to the rat race.
